How you will make an impact

You will play a key role in strengthening compliance across the Clear London Markets division, specifically supporting Lilley Plummer Risks. Acting as a senior compliance advisor and business partner, you’ll embed good conduct, assess risk, and provide commercially practical guidance that aligns with FCA and Lloyd’s regulatory standards. Your expertise will help ensure operational integrity, support strategic goals, and enhance Clear Group’s wholesale and reinsurance compliance capability.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Advisory & Business Partnership

  • Act as the first point of contact for compliance and financial crime advice within the division.
  • Support day-to-day decision-making with clear, practical compliance input.
  • Deliver management information and performance updates to divisional leadership.

Lloyd’s, London Market & Wholesale Compliance

  • Provide expert guidance on Lloyd’s market regulatory requirements.
  • Advise on wholesale and delegated authority processes, ensuring adherence to key agreements and contracts.
  • Support the identification and management of potential E&O exposures and associated learning outcomes.

Risk, Governance & Financial Crime

  • Conduct financial crime risk assessments and support anti-financial crime frameworks.
  • Log and monitor conflicts of interest and ensure mitigation plans are implemented.
  • Review and manage third-party relationships, ensuring appropriate governance is in place.

Policies, Training & Integration

  • Maintain and update compliance policies and ensure alignment with evolving regulations.
  • Design and deliver training across regulatory topics, onboarding, and business-specific risks.
  • Support acquisition and integration projects, addressing key risks and findings

About You

Attributes: Skills: Qualifications

Candidates must meet the essential criteria through relevant experience or demonstrated transferable skills. However, desirable attributes, skills, and qualifications will be considered a strong advantage.

Essential

  • Knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements, including SMCR and ICOBS, within the wholesale and reinsurance environment.
  • Experience working in or advising a Lloyd’s broker or within the London Market.
  • Operational or broking experience in a regulated insurance business.
  • Understanding of traditional and non-traditional insurance and reinsurance models

Desirable

  • Experience contributing to regulatory frameworks in a broking setting.
  • Familiarity with reinsurance placement, Coverholder agreements, and delegated authority oversight.

Qualifications

  • Working towards or holding a recognised qualification (e.g. CII, ICA).
